The Seabird
Late last year we were asked by a stylish friend and customer, (Karen Motyka), to help her with the finishing decorative touches on a luxurious lodge just north of Moruya called The Seabird.
The Seabird is inspired by its location. The water, the native bush on the Aboriginal land opposite and the granite of the Moruya Breakwall. Guests interested in aviation and seaplanes will also enjoy the location at Moruya airport and the magnificent hanger at the rear of the building for visiting aircraft.
Our brief was to provide ideas for soft furnishings as Karen had already done an amazing job with the owner in purchasing all the furniture. The aesthetic is slightly masculine and aviation centred, but also environmentally conscious, luxurious and high quality focussed.
We delivered a beautiful assortment of handmade linen cushions in our baguette bedsize dimensions, also chair size square and lumbar, as well as Belgian linen throws and Australian sheepskins.
The Seabird had a bumpy landing into their first tourist season with the recent bushfire crisis. Instead of welcoming visiting tourists, The Seabird hosted RFS personnel and pilots and families who lost their homes. So if you have friends or relatives visiting the beautiful South Coast over Easter, or are looking for a holiday destination yourself, check out The Seabird for luxurious accommodation.
