East End Press is a print and design studio based in the west end of Glasgow. We create colourful, handmade paper products which are always made from entirely recycled cotton pulp. Their products are all silk screen printed by hand, creating a luscious, rich look and feel. The brightness of colour and the slight misregistration of print is why they love screen-printing as a process, and what gives there products their unique aesthetic.

The business started in 2015 by designer and printmaker Ellie Hodesdon, with everything printed, made, and packed in Glasgow. A few years later, and the garland production line had massively outgrown the little screen printing and laser cutting set up Ellie had created in Scotland. The natural place to look to for manufacturing was Jaipur, the home of printmaking, so in 2018 Ellie travelled to India in search of printmakers who could create their products, e very manufacturer within the chain they work with are fair-trade; and registered with and independently audited by SEDEX, an international organisation ensuring ethical and responsible supply chains.

They aim to make beautiful, sustainable, fun homeware, stationery and decorations that add something interesting and colourful to your home

  • One fruit-shaped paper ornament with a cotton hanging loop
  • Each secured with a magnet
  • Screen printed by hand by talented artisans in Jaipur
  • Sustainably made from recycled materials

Disclaimer: this item is not a toy, and contains magnetic components. The many layers of their honeycomb decorations are assembled by hand. When freshly opened, they may need a little bit of gentle encouragement to expand and for the ends to stick together with the magnet. As the layers loosen with time after being tightly packed, this should become easier.
